Pineapple Angel Food Cake

I’d been craving something a lil sweet. This fit the bill tonight… Here’s the recipe link. https://pin.it/xavz7un3nvkcp So easy. 2/3 ingredients, what’s not to love about that. I added 1/4 tsp. vanilla to the cake mix before baking and I topped the finished cake slices as shown, whip cream and fresh raspberries, mmm. Top yours as you like! So easy and sure to be a crowd pleaser in your fam. too. *Be sure not to overfill your cake pan/s. This mix rises quite a bit as it bakes. g.

The King’s Supreme Peanut Butter Banana Bread

This recipe could not be easier. I took an already great recipe I found on the web and tweaked it to my liking while considering what I had on hand in my kitchen, Peanut Butter Banana Bread it is! I am playfully calling it the King’s (as in Elvis) because from what I understand he loved the combo… bananas and peanut butter, yum! I must say this bread is delicious, it is deliciously decadent , but not too sweet and I mean that in a good way. The peanuts and peanut butter give it a great depth of flavor. Had to give you an inside look, plus… I had to have a test 😉 slice. Oh so good. Ingredients 3 very ripe bananas 1/3 cup melted butter 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 beaten egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup roasted unsalted peanut 1/4 cup peanut butter pinch of salt Process Preheat oven to 350 Butter a glass loaf pan In a mixing bowl mash the bananas …

Triple Berry Pie, Oh My

So my Mom in law is the real MVP of pie making, but I was craving a berry pie of which she does not make. So I thought I’d give my pie making skills a refresher course. I am certainly not known for my baking skills and I’m ok with that. My pie is not the prettiest here, but I will say this… it sure turned out pretty darn delish! Here is the berry filling recipe I used. The only change I made… I cut back on the sugar by 1/2 cup. I thought a whole cup was just way too much for my taste buds, you might like a sweeter filling though so stick with the whole cup. When I topped a slice (or two ;)) of this pie with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream, the bit of tang (in the filling) to sweet ratio with the ice cream was just right, at least for my husband and myself. All other steps I did the same. https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/triple-berry-pie/ Here’s the pie crust …

A Fine Fruit Salad

I grew up eating this most delicious stuff around the holidays. It’s funny my mom and sisters have made it for family gatherings for years, but I kinda over time lost my love for it. Recently my mom passed away and all of a sudden I’ve been craving it like crazy. I guess food memories can be like that, you miss what you don’t have. You want back the yummy good stuff and the people in your life that created it.   Missing you Mom… ❤️ Here are the ingredients, I made a few adjustments (to the original recipe) according to my taste buds.  Don’t forget the pineapple tidbits! (not pictured here)  Here’s what it looks like done. Chill the salad for a few hours at least or better yet overnight.  Ingredients 1 large bag (20oz) mini marshmallows  2 large (30oz) cans fruit cocktail in heavy syrup, drained 1/2 a large bag (14oz) of coconut 1 can (20oz) pineapple tidbits, drained 8 oz sour cream  1/4 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp cinnamon  …

Vanilla Crepes w/Fresh Fruit Medley and Cream… (Whipped That Is)

It’s my husband’s birthday 🎈, what better way to help him start his special day.  💙 A delish and special breakfast it is… I just made the batter ahead in order to let it rest, according to Alton Brown who’s recipe I tweaked a tad… this will keep the Crepes from tearing easily. Here I sit… giving at least one hour time for the bubbles in the batter to go down. This batter can be made ahead and kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, love that. I’m hosting a sisters (I have 4💖) slumber party in the next few months, this recipe will definitely be on my planning list.  I’m waiting for the birthday boy to awaken into his special day. Here’s the crepe recipe link, the only change I made was to add 1/4 tsp of real vanilla extract, it gives the crepes a subtle flavor of vanilla, they are delish.  http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/crepes-recipe.html For the finished crepes, fruit… Chop up 2/3 cups of assorted fruit To the fruit add a sweetener of …
