Herb Crusted Baked Pork Chops

I give you my Herb Crusted Baked Pork Chops. They make a great presentation, perhaps you’d like to entertain with these as the main dish. This dish is to easy to come together not to try.

Rosemary grows wonderfully in my back yard, so rosemery  it is…

My parsley plant will provide the 2nd herb delight in this dish

I like to mise en place (just French for gather your ingredients/have everything in place) 1st. Missing here is the Rosemary, opps.

I used a bit of Chinese hot mustard in addition to regular mustard as opposed to heading to the market just for spicy mustard. You don’t need to go out and buy the Chinese hot mustard, this my dear mother in law just happened to have on hand and it worked.

(Oh yes, we are living family style (ha) in laws and sis in laws as well in our home here in So. Cal. for a few months. We are all in a transitioning period. It’s all good and the extra family time has been nice. Life can change in an instant, as we all know, I’m embracing this time as a gift from above.)

Your mustard source could be your standard spicy mustard. Experiment and let me know…

Here’s what the herb bread crumb mixture looks like

Cake about a 1/2-1 tablespoon onto one side of each porkchop. The mix is full of great flavor, it’s all you need.

Ingredients…

  • 8 tablespoons butter, salted
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary, minced
  • 3 tablespoons prepared spicy mustard of your choice (I used regular mustard with a pinch of hot Chinese mustard)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Process…

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Grease two baking pans (I lined mine with foil, then sprayed oil olive on them)
  3. In a med size bowl melt the butter (the microwave is fine)
  4. Add in all other ingredients
  5. Mix well
  6. Take each pork chop and cake 1/2 – 1 tablespoon of the herd and breadcrumb mixture onto just one side (this will be your top side)
  7. Space the pork chops out evenly, crumb mixture side up
  8. Bake for 45 minutes @ 350
  9. Remove them from the oven
  10. . Turn on your broiler to high
  11. . Broil the pork chops fairly close to your heat source for 1-2 minutes only. (watch them closely as they will become too charred if you are not careful, I broiled my pork chops in 2 batches as I had two baking sheets to do)

*this recipe made 7 herb crusted chops, it actually could make at least 7 more especially if your using 1/2 tablespoon for the each pork chop topping)

Hi, thanks for stopping bye. I have so many passions, not quite sure (ever,) where to start. I hope you find posts here on my blog that are interesting to you. I have a culinary background, having spent time studying in Hollywood Ca. and in the South of France. I am also a passionate amateur photographer. Lately I've been trying my hand at the written word as well. Enjoy.
